SPACE COMMAND FEDERATION TROOPER

Rumours of Death

A 6mm scifi scenario using Battlegroup Panzer Grenadier rules.

Okay, this adaptation of BGPG is inspired by an episode of Blake's Seven (if this name means nothing to you then do a quick Google of it …but in brief it was a very successful 80s BBC scifi show). The episode, titled Rumours of Death, is set at Residence One; Servalan's presidential mansion home on Earth which is attacked by Freedom fighters aided by Blake and his crew. Conveniently Residence One is modelled on an English Country House...

The Forces

Our force composition was not complicated. The Federation were equipped as German units and the rebels had Allied equipped units. For example the Federation tanks used PanzerIV stats and the Rebel tank was a Sherman etc.

Blake' Seven is fairly easy to convert as exotic weaponry is not a big feature of the stories and most of the featured armaments can be easily matched to those used in WW2. Energy Rifles and Carbines as well as various side-arms featured heavily as did forms of grenade.

Presumably due to budget restrictions tanks and other armoured vehicles were not common in the show and is perhaps an area where our conversion has taken the most liberties. Flame throwing security robots did feature in some episodes and were a fun unit to create for the game.

Rebel infantry with some light armour support
(armour did not feature in the original TV episode)
The troops were from GZGs 6mm range and the armour was from irregular's 6mm scifi selection. The scenery was in house scratch built terrain boards as were the wooden buildings - originally built for a napoleonic game.
The Rebel assault underway.

The assault meets heavy resistance in particular from the upper stories of the main building. Residence One proved a tough nut to crack on the day.
